Me and my big mouth!!

AARRGGHHH!! I cannot seem to take a small bite to save my ass! I guess I have always loved the sensation of stuffing a huge bite-full of food into my mouth and having it crammed in every nook and cranny of my kisser...I am just now discovering this though!! Maybe my parents scolded me as a child...perhaps I’ve even embarrassed my dinner companions...but I don’t remember it!! It’s been one of my hardest obstacles!!! I put these HUGE bites in my mouth and then think...”CRAP, what am I going to do now????” So I try and portion it out, put some in the side of my mouth...chew some...and then try and swallow just a tiny bit!!!! Portion size isn’t my issue...it’s BITE SIZE!!! Yes, I even admit to spitting some of it out when I’m alone!!! G-ROSS!!! My nutritionist recommended using junior sized flatware...but I can’t find anything that's not rubber with turtles and bunnies on it!!! Not to mention neon colored so everyone around me thinks I’ve stolen my grandson’s spoon!

So...not drinking while eating...and taking smaller bites...are two of my challenges that i WILL conquer...TODAY...NOT TOMORROW...TODAY....gulp...

I am guilty too.. Sooooo guilty! Not drinking while eating has been ok, but bite size has been my nemesis...... I haven't found small silverware either, so I've been using a dessert fork and teaspoon.. I do miss taking a big ole honkin' bite of food though..

We're always learning, aren't we...

Yeah that was hard for me too! I was told that your bites should be the size of your fingernail so I try and think about that while I am eating. I also wanted silverware that didn't look like kids and I found this one. It's really nice, but a little pricey. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NDQ3E6

I have the same problems. Large bites and I want to drink.
I have noticed that if I let myself get too hungry I take bigger bites.
This journey is all about making adjustments- I guess.

I STILL struggle with this and I'm 7 1/2 months out! I don't know if it ever gets better. LOL

These are like what I use. But I love my rubber soft bright colored spoons that say love...because it reminds mr I love myself more than the food!

I had a giggle when I read this post. I am the same with food and also 'split' it so I only swallow a small amount at a time. I do the same with water. Take a huge gulp and then think... ooops. I also swallow a bit at a time.

I have just been using a salad fork and have found that to work.
