First, yay for the new step in your journey! And 30 lbs in 5 weeks...that is amazing!!! Aaaand...you have an infectious smile. Just made me happy.
Cheers,
J
You're doing great, lady! You can do some light weights or try swimming, that's great low-impact exercise! Or there's dance classes, or bike riding. All kinds of stuff that don't involve weight lifting. :) Just find something that works for you.
Also, are you tracking your calories? (When I stop losing, it's usually b/c I'm not tracking.) It's super important to know exactly how much you're eating.
Yeah I can't get down drinks that are too frothy. Try different things and you'll find something that works for you. I agree with Ronnie's suggestions.
Thanks! I started tracking this morning...and tracked all of my lunch before I left for work..then got here and couldn't eat it!! I know my protein is falling short...but I'm going to give it a try again tonight!!!
Thanks Again Ladies!!!
Eating your protein is so so very important. Don't have to play catch up with your protein like I have. Have you tried Click yet? If you like coffee you will like this....I add a scoop of 100 cal, 25g protein, of vanilla whey isolate powder to mine every morning. The vanilla powder on its owm is nasty, but can't taste it with Click.
You should always follow what your surgeon has told you but mine allowed me to use treadmill and eliptical at 2 weeks and the weight machines at 3 weeks. I am sure he has reasons to keep you on low for now. Just be safe with your work outs. You are doing very well. Chin up my friend.
Yes, I agree...follow what your surgeon says to do. I was able to work out after 3 weeks. I have a great protein shake: 4oz soy milk, 4oz apple juice, 1 scoop vanilla soy protein powder, 1 scoop green vibrance, half cup of frozen blueberries and 1 tbs of flax meal ~toss in blender and yummm! Or chocolate soy milk, vanilla soy protein powder and 1tbs peanut butter ~ double yum!
If you haven't checked out eggface yet, you might want to look at her blog. At 1 week post op, I'm loving her variety of protien shakes and smoothies. Here's the link to her favorite shakes/smoothies. Hope this helps!

I started walking on my treadmill at 3 wks post op. 30 minutes at first then gradually increased my speed & then distance goals until I was running a couple months later.
You're doing great!
Hi Dede ! I found you ;) I'm also a July-band-baby ... we can do this !
I agree that you should definatly follow what your Doctor says.
If there is something specific exercise wise you want to do call and ask her if that is okay. Just keep in mind that this is really a time to mend.
I think you are doing a great job!
